Internet Explorer – Disable Images, Video, and Adobe Flash

Have you ever wanted to browse a Web site and read its content without seeing annoying pictures and Flash animations? Well, you can do so by temporary disabling those annoyances via the use of registry update files. This is useful for office cubicle dwellers who might want to view some personal Web sites like Facebook without the images being displayed for coworkers passing by to see.
I created these registry update files years ago, but just updated them today. I got the info for disabling Adobe Flash from http://johnhaller.com/jh/useful_stuff/disable_flash.asp. These reg updates will disable images, videos, animations and Adobe Flash. This is a per-user change, not entire system. I also included a second reg file that will re-enable the settings.
I tested this with Windows XP SP3 with IE 8, and Windows 7 with IE 9.
The first file, setIE-ImgVid-NO.reg, will disable the annoyances. The second file, setIE-ImgVid-YES.reg, will re-enable them. Remove the "_.txt" part from the file names before double-clicking on them. Restart IE after running each file, for the changes to take effect.
